married Mary Henagan 

 


William Bethea3 was the son of "Virginia" John Bethea2 and settled on Sweat Swamp and owned 1500 acres. He had a brother, "Buckswamp" John Bethea3, and at least 2 sisters, Anna Bethea (Rogers)3 and Mary Bethea (Rogers)3. William Bethea  married Sara Goodman and had four sons and two daughters., 
1) "Devil" John Bethea4, b.1752 married Mary Henagan
2) Goodman Bethea4 ,  b. 10-1759 S.C. m- Mary Council
3) Philip Bethea4, 
4) Jesse Bethea4 , b. 8-27-1763 m. Celia Harrelson

5) Martha Bethea4 b. ca 1765 & d. aft. 1807, she mar. Othneil Trawick.
6) Charity Bethea4 b. 12-2-1772, d. after 12-14-1839 in Columbus Co.,Miss., m(1) Henry H Hybert (Hubert).
